Beginning at an early age, DJ Chaplin began his career by recording his older brothers' mixtapes from some of the pioneers of the mixtape game, including artists such as Tony Touch, DJ DooWop, DJ Clue amongst many others. It wasn't until working for two local mixtape stores after school, The Flava Shop and Centerstyle Records, that he would discover his own style and taste of creating mixtapes, he would later bring his own flavor and uniqueness to his work. As a short time passed DJ Chaplin got his first pair of turntables and began selling mix cd's at schools and local stores. Gaining knowledge of the resources needed to further his career, along with building a strong network and close relationships with many established producers and MC's, he would go on to making tapes hosted by artist's such as Grafh [BlackhHand Ent.], the late Stack Bundles, Tony Yayo, Royal Flush, HellRell, J.R. Writer, A-Mafia (Dipset), Royce Da 5'9", among many others. This lead to where he is now, an up and coming talented driven DJ. DJ Chaplin has also been featured on college radio mixshows as well as Sirius Sattelites Shade 45 show "Rep Yo Set Sundays". |
